ESPN.com has a nice little tool to find the at-bat music for every major leaguer. Two things that come through loud and clear: A-Rod’s at-bat music could not be more dated and yawn-inducing. Seriously, “This is Why I’m Hot?” Playing that song during the summer of 2008 is so last year, literally; the song was huge last year, and after that you kind of never want to hear it again. The second thing is that Greg Maddux’s choice is “Limelight,” by Rush, a perfectly anachronistic choice. He’s a blast from the past himself, a former chart-topping badass who has managed to stay relevant with sound mechanics, efficiency, and grit. Kind of like Rush.
